Sundance Cinemas Madison unveiled their spring Wednesday “Classics” schedule last week on their Facebook page, and it’s a fairly respectable selection.
The series begins on Mar 4 with Charade. Stanley Donen’s rom-com mystery hybrid has Audrey Hepburn on the lam from Cary Grant and all because of her dead husband’s stolen fortune. (For symmetry, you can see Hepburn in her most famous role this Wednesday with Breakfast at Tiffany’s.) Turner Classic Movies will once again present a selection with Rear Window on Mar 25, and the Wednesday following Easter Sunday (Apr 8) features Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ. “Classic” status notwithstanding, see what they did there? (They got out of the Wisconsin Film Festival’s way, which starts the next day. That’s what they did.)
The complete schedule is below:
- Charade – Mar 4
- Sunset Boulevard – Mar 11
- The Seven Year Itch – Mar 18
- Rear Window – Mar 25
- Gigi – Apr 1
- Passion of the Christ – Apr 8
